Ethics is defined as a discipline where an individual endeavors to identify, analyze, and justify human behavior by applying priniciples to establish what is right (Curtin, 2005). The internet has the power of both good and evil. There are innumerable websites that offer both health information and treatment options. There are also countless websites that contain personal information available to the public for a fee. Although both of these resources play an important role, they are also avenues for hackers and seekers of personal gain to take advantage of innocent people. As healthcare professionals, it is important to consider the ethical, moral, and legal responsibilities associated with healthcare informatics.
Well said Rebecca.
Patrice said this is an interesting article. It makes everyone aware of the ethical dilemmas that are involved in the field of nursing.
