I think blogs in the workplace would be a good idea. People with more information and have a passion for subjects can start discussions and begin help other learn.

Because I am so new at using computers for more than typing papers, much of this is very interesting and new to me. It is beneficial to know what a blog is and just how blogs are so widely used. I am excited to learn how to make a blog and think I will learn a lot!
In healthcare, blogs are useful for communicating research projects, feedback and contributions can be given. The approach is simple, cost efficient and fast. Blogs can be visited daily and new information added. It can be a “core unit of continuing professional development (Sandars, 2007).

Good points about the ability to create an online community of people who have a common interest (healthcare concerns, medical professionals re: standards of care, what worked/didn't work). But it also provided a pitfall example, where a blogging community determined that something was false, and blogged about it ('Rathergate'). If people are unfamilar with blogs, they may misunderstand that the blog is 'true' because it is on the internet.
This article by Sandars is an interesting overview of the use of blogs and Wikis in higher education.
Interesting concept of enhancing communication in a class or academic setting.
